ECAC Hockey Faceoff Selections 2023-24: Week 8

Week 7 was a mediocre one for everyone in the Daily Gazette ECAC Hockey Faceoff Selections. Mostly everyone went 5-3, 4-4 or posted a losing record. There were some shocking results, including Cornell losing twice, and 8-4 drubbing at the hands of Quinnipiac and a 2-1 loss to Princeton on Brendan Gorman’s goal with 3.4 seconds left in overtime.

One of the players who posted a 5-3 record was Dutch Crazy. That helped Dutch Crazy move into a first-place tie with Michael Hutter.

The other players to go 5-3 were Brian Unger, Achilles 3-7-5, Union Bob, David Trestick, Towell68 and Rich Large.

I went 4-4-0 last week. I’m in a four-way tie for 10th.

Here’s a look at the standings, with Week 7 records in parentheses:

Time for the Week 8 picks. It’s an early start because of the Wednesday game between Quinnipiac and Boston U. There are 18 games to pick between Wednesday and Sunday, so this could be a good chance to catch up in the standings. To play, email your picks to me at schott@dailygazette.com. Also, please make sure that you are picking all the games. If you are missing a game, it will count as a loss.

This year, I will be including the rankings for both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey Magazine/USA Today hockey polls. The USCHO.com poll will be listed first.

Your picks must be in by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
