Manchester United may be set to miss out on Fluminense midfielder Andre, according to reports.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United looked to have an interest in the Brazilian midfielder with reports stating that the club were tracking the 22-year-old.
With Casemiro struggling for form and his future uncertain, the Red Devils will surely have to begin looking for a new midfield anchor, one that is young enough and will grow with the team.
SL Benfica midfielder Joao Neves has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer but will be very expensive, and it looks like the Red Devils will miss out on one of their cheaper targets, Brazilian midfielder Andre.
United set to miss out
According to the Daily Mail, another Premier League club leading the race for the Fluminense midfielder.
That club is Marco Silva’s Fulham, who are reportedly keen on completing the agreement to sign the 22-year-old sooner rather than later, which would be another blow for the Red Devils.
With his release clause being set at €30 million (£26 million), United could miss out on yet another South American bargain, having already missed out on Julian Alvarez a year ago and Moises Caicedo back in 2020.

According to the report, the only chance of the deal to take Andre to Fulham collapses would be if another side stump up even more cash for the 22-year-old. The Red Devils, alongside Liverpool and Arsenal, are believed to still be keen on the Brazilian.
United’s other targets
If United to miss out on Andre, the club will have a multitude of targets that they will explore if they can’t sign the Fluminense midfielder. Whether any are as good value, is another matter.
The midfielder who looks to be causing the most excitement at the moment is the 19-year-old Benfica midfielder Neves, who has a close relationship with Bruno Fernandes.
Neves, however, won’t come cheap with the Portuguese giants having a £100 million release clause in his contract that they will insist must be paid.
Everton midfielder Amadou Onana could be a cheaper option with the club’s financial fair play struggles and the Belgian has admitted there had been interest in him last summer.
