The Dutch Gaming Authority Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) has ordered Sarah Eternal SRL to pay incremental penalties for offering games of chance on the casinosky.com website without a license. Offering games of chance without a license is prohibited in the Netherlands. If Sarah Eternal does not stop the violation, the company will be fined 280.000 euros per week, with a maximum of 840.000 euros.

Providers who do not have a license for the Dutch market must do everything they can to ensure that Dutch players cannot go to them to play, for example by setting up an IP block. KSA inspectors were able to go to provider Sarah Eternal’s website casinosky.com to create an account, make a deposit and participate in illegal gambling. This was possible even when it was clearly stated in the bill that the player was from the Netherlands. This is why Ksa has now imposed an incremental penalty payment.

The Netherlands has a regulated gambling market to better protect players. The KSA therefore takes stern action against illegal procurement. With an order subject to incremental penalties, illegal sourcing is often quickly stopped.
