Mid-october, when the dance music industry gathers in The Netherland’s capital for the Amsterdam Dance Event, indie-label Soave Records and the trendy hostel Generator Amsterdam partner up for an event connecting aspiring industry pro’s with the industry.
On Thursday October 19, the music industry experts of the future, whether you’re a songwriter, producer, DJ, artist manager or music marketeer, have the opportunity to increase their knowledge during Soave Academy. This boutique conference features multiple panel talks and masterclasses. Among the guests are Stefan Blonk and Gwen Klein Bluemink representing entertainment law firm Blonk.NU, Olivier Meijs, founder of DJ School Amsterdam, Madeleine van Geuns, owner of 88 Music Management and manager of Phuture Noize, Madism and Anthony Dircson, Harry Sotnick, Product Lead at Daily Playlists and a number of Soave Records’ artists like Swedish-Canadian rapper and songwriter Max Wassen, Dutch producer and DJ Madism and singer-songwriter Jay Mason. For the price cheaper than most cocktails these days, you can attend all these classes and talks and actually meet the guests which could move your career forward. Not only a great opportunity for musicians and music professionals, but also for the conference’s speakers, who have the chance to connect with their preferred audience. “We have been working with Soave Records for years and are thrilled to be able to spread music rights wisdom during the Soave event. We believe a well-informed artist is a happy artist.”, says entertainment lawyer and masterclass host Gwen from Blonk.NU.
On Friday October 20, aspirant producers get a chance to meet a number of dance music labels during a demo drop session. They can showcase their demos, get feedback from the label’s representatives and connect for potential, future collaborations. “During Soave’s demo drop event, I’m expecting to see a lot of familiar faces, meet like minded people, share experiences and scout new talent for Sekora. There can never be enough events to socialise during this time of year, and I’m always having a blast with the Soave team. So, this one is a must-go for me.” says Wesley Verhey (UOAK), Sekora’s founder and managing director. Whether you produce chill house music fit for a cocktail bar, tech house bangers for nightclub dance floors or underground hard dance music. The Demo Drop connects you with the right representatives that could help move your career forward. Labels that will be present are Soave Records and its sub-labels Sandcastle and Dusk, Sekora, Fair Music, Relevel, Up All Night, Chill Out Tales, Chapter EIGHT, Den Haku Records and Dancing Dead Records.
It will be a busy couple of days for the Soave team. Besides Soave Academy and the demo drop, there will be multiple DJ performances in the hotel’s lobby throughout the day, Soave’s network will gather for an industry mixer and a lot of content creation will be happening such as the recording of DJ sets in the hotel’s club Oosterbar and photo shoots. On Thursday evening, the label will even host their very first nightclub event in the former theatre Desmet Studio’s, close to the Generator hostel. For Desmet Studio’s, it is one of the first year’s where they’re hosting parties every day during the Amsterdam Dance Event. Spokeswomen Fleur says they “look forward to facilitating these events including The Soave Party” in their iconic venue.
Why did this partnership start off in the first place, you may ask? Elizabeth Dijkhuizen, marketing manager of Soave Records explains: “First of all, Generator Amsterdam is a trendy, laid-back and lifely hostel which fits the Soave-vibe. One of the reasons our whole team is staying here as well during the event. Generator wants to tap into the dance music scene more so they can be an official Amsterdam Dance Event ’hub’ in the future. For us as Soave Records, it is important to actually connect with our artists and followers. We have a big online reach, but no live events to meet the ‘Soave squad’ personally. I am very happy we could merge both of our goals and create this cool collaborative event!”
If you want to connect with the dance music industry and move your career to the next phase, and do it all in one location this October? Then the Generator Amsterdam is the place to be. Check out soaverecords.com/ade2023 for more information and tickets.
